Medical Acupuncture

Having been a GP for over 20 years and holding the Diploma in Medical Acupuncture since 2003, I bring a wealth of experience in managing a wide range of physical and emotional symptoms.

I offer a holistic approach to care, taking into account the emotional and lifestyle factors that influence both your symptoms and overall wellbeing. My aim is to work collaboratively with you to identify the various factors contributing to how you are feeling, rather than focusing solely on your symptoms.

I am a strong advocate for small, achievable lifestyle changes, recognising that even modest adjustments can have a powerful and lasting impact on long-term health and quality of life.

What is medical acupuncture?

Medical acupuncture is a modern, safe, and evidence-based form of acupuncture that combines traditional techniques with modern understanding of physiology and neuroscience.

It draws on research into pain perception, muscle and organ function, the nervous and immune systems, and hormonal regulation. This allows medical acupuncturists to support and encourage the body’s own natural balancing, healing, and pain-relieving processes. Through understanding these mechanisms, medical acupuncture can exert powerful effects on a wide range of symptoms and conditions. Medical acupuncture offers a holistic treatment that brings together the best of both traditional practice and modern medicine in the safe
hands of a fully qualified medical professional.

Training in medical acupuncture is open only to health professionals and is regulated in the UK by the British Medical Acupuncture Society.
